Depends on cause...: One's primary care doctor can check for medical causes. If none are found, then one can see a dermatologist, especially one specializing in hair restoration (some treatments: minoxidil, finasteride, hair transplants, . ..). Medical causes may include: hormonal problems (low thyroid), seborrhea, alopecia areata, stressful illness. Other causes: genetic male/female pattern baldness, telogen effluvium.

I have thing of hair in the frontal area. What supplement should I take?

First off, visit: Your doctor to make sure that there is a not a medical reason as to why your hair is thinning. My basic recollection, selenium is good for hair and Minoxidil may not regrow hair but at least preserve what you have. I'd ask a dermatologist for help.

Thin hair: If you're concerned about hair loss which could be congenital, familial or caused by medical problems like thyroid or other hormonal abnormalities or even skin conditions, consult a dermatologist who will evaluate the type of hair thinning you have. He/she will be able to order appropriate tests and also advise you whether the thinning is permanent or not. A skilled beautician also teaches hair car

Male pattern baldnes: Is due to male hormones & genetics. There are topical meds like rogaine (minoxidil) that can stop loss & slowly regrow hair. Also oral meds, but they may have unacceptable side effects. Check with doc to make sure not another condition. Hair transplants not advised at your age.

Hair loss: It is normal to lose up to a hundred or so hairs a day. At times stress, medications, or systemic disease (thyroid, diabetes) may be the cause. If the condition does not improve after a few months, see a dermatologist for evaluation and treatment options.

I am an 18 years old boy and I have recently started losing hair in frontal part of my head, I have sufferred mental pressure rcntly, what should I do?

It happens: Your hair grows and sheds in cycles, with each of us losing 50-100/day while other inactive hairs start growing again. A significant stress, childbirth, major illness, etc. Can change the cycle of shedding and cause a disruption. The body should eventually reset back to a normal pattern, yet it would be good to have this checked out by a physician to make sure another issue is not hiding behind this

Get seen: A thyroid check is in order as is an evaluation for telogen effluvium. You also list a diagnosis of and treatment for androgenic alopecia / male pattern baldness. This is usually unmistakable but doesn't get the entire scalp.

Is there any cures for frontal hair loss or anything that will slow down the process of thinning hair?

Minoxidl: For women 5 per cent romaine foam will work on the frontal hairline. For men romaine os not very effective for frontal hair loss. Propecia (finasteride) cna work on frontal hair loss in 62 per cent of men, but does not work well in the temple area. Lasers have shown some effect on the frontal area but results are variable.

Hair changes: Before can really answer this need to see the hair and the spots. Need to discuss with the dermatologist most likely to be sure. Stress can do a lot of things to our bodies and I have seen over the past 40 years in my practices the phenomenons you are reporting. I hope you check it out and see if it can be treated. Good luck.

Seek Qualified Help: Genetic or Medical issue? Before you go shopping for hair growth products, treatments & services, the first most important thing to do is find a doctor qualified to diagnose, measure, treat & track your hair loss/hair growth over time. Find an ABHRS-certified Hair Restoration M.D. to evaluate your situation. You need a specialist on your side & this may NOT necessarily be your local dermatologist.

Are steriod injections in the frontal area of the scalp for hair loss safe for someone who has glaucoma.

Are steriod injections in the frontal area of the scalp for hair loss safe for someone who has glaucoma.

Eye pressure: The facts concerning whether steroid injections will help your problem should come from your dermatologist. Steroids can cause eye pressure elevation even in people who don't have glaucoma. I think it would be ok, however the pressure must be watched. The greater chance for pressure elevation is with steroid eye drops and steroid injections into the eye for varies diseases.
