Don't touch: The best way to get rid of whiteheads is to leave them alone. Resist the urge to squeeze. They will resolve quicker and with less scarring if you just wash with soap and water and allow them to heal. Benzoyl peroxide is an irritant, and will certainly increase redness and irritation once you have squeezed.
