How To Reduce Piles Pain
Last week I had a radiowave surgery 4 piles and fissure, doc said it will take 4-6 weeks for pus to stop. Can I use Fucidin H cream to reduce itching?
Consider options: Fucidin is a combo of hydrocortisone and a topical antibiotic effective against gram + bacteria, but not e.coli - which are present in your bowel. Broken or irritated skin allows for increased absorbtion, which is not desired. You may be better off using witch hazel (ie Tucks pads), sitz baths or ice packs to decrease itching and discomfort. As your MD for advice, especially if pus present.See 1 more doctor answer
Not really: Most over the counter medications only temporarily improve hemorrhoids. Ice and sitz baths (soaking in warm water), as well as avoiding constipation by increasing fiber and fluid intake, work just as well for less money. Also try a moisturizing cleanser like balneol to decrease your irritation when wiping. Wipes and plain toilet paper can be really irritating.See 1 more doctor answer
I heard using hemorrhoid cream (like preparation-h, proctolog cream) can reduce wrinkles. Is it true?
It is not true: Preparation h moisturizes the skin to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It cannot remove them.
Had hemorrhoids since 13, recent flare up during work. Wondering if performing kegel exercises would help reduce chance/longevity of anal protrusions?
NO: Banding or surgical excision is the only cure. Seek help from a proctologist
For 2+ weeks treating extn'l hemorrhoids with hydroctisone, sitz baths, & witch hazel, beside surgery what else can be done to reduce (not painful)?
More time: Hemorrhoid symptoms range from mild discomfort to burning, itching, bleeding, pressure, mass or lump in the perianal area. Symptoms managed with shower, hairdryer to area, creams, antifungals, and Lidocaine gels applied locally. More severe pain, bleeding may be a fissure. A bowel regimen, laxatives, fiber, increased dietary liquids, probiotics to achieve 2 soft stools daily. Then time.

My anal sphincter size has reduced due anal fissure & int. & ext hemorrhoids too. Can the size of sphincter b regain without any operation & dialtion?
I am experiencing severe hemorrhoids, Constant pain and bad swelling. Need to poop but don't know if I should? Also don't know how to reduce the swelling, it feels like its. Gonna pop
Rx suggested: You should eat at high fiber foods, use topical hemorrhoid ointments available over the counter at the pharmacy, soak in warm sitz baths, and take pain relievers such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen as prescribed on the package. More extensive treatments such as rubber band ligation, sclerotherapy, laser treatment, or surgery may be considered by a primary care physician in a clinic.
GP said I had hemorrhoid. Diet change/fiber/water, took Miralax&Colace for 2 weeks. Reduced stool softeners & pain/blood return w/BM. Continue w/meds?
Removal: If the hemorrhoids subside with the treatment you are taking, well and good, if not, you may consider getting the lesions removed.
That's an old term: For hemorrhoids.Hemorrhoids are dialated veins around the anus. Frequently, women who have given birth vaginally have them due to the pushing durring childbirth. Also, people with frequent constipation also develop them due to this same effect of pushing (valsalva manouver), which increases the pressure in the venous system, resulting in dialated anal veins.
Can be uncomfortable: Stay well hydrated (at least 8 - 8 ounces glasses of water per day). Try to get in 5 servings of vegetables and 4 servings of fruit per day – get that fiber in. Stay physically active if possible. There are a number of over the counter laxatives that can be taken orally to help pass retained fecal matter.See 1 more doctor answer
Hemorrhoids: Dr conway addressed medical solutions. Here are some tips to help you feel more comfortable. It is important not to make hemorrhoids worse. Cleaning off after a bowel movement should be gentle. Pre-moistened towlettes can be used to dab the anus. Don’t wipe/rub. Pat the anus dry after cleaning. Avoid using harsh soaps that contain dyes or aromas. Cotton underwear is helpful as it absorbs moisture.See 1 more doctor answer
Hemorrhoids: These are more common in individuals who are chronically constipated. Having regular fiber in your diet including taking extra fiber like metamucil would be helpful. Depending on the degree and if these stick out or are bleeding surgery may be required. Taking sitz bath may help relief some pain.See 1 more doctor answer
Painfully: Piles, commonly known as hemorrhoids, have been around since the old testament. Having hemorrhoids is normal - they are designed to help us be continent of stool. Having symptomatic hemorrhoids is not normal. Internal hemorrhoids commonly cause rectal bleeding and can fall out with bowel movements - called prolapse. External hemorrhoids can cause pain. Daily fiber is a good first step.See 1 more doctor answer
Piles = Hemorrhoids: There are three steps to self treating hemorrhoids (blood clots in the rectal veins). 1. Soak: keep the area clean so that infection doesn't set in. 2. Soften your stool: keep from bearing down hard when having a bm so that the clot doesn't grow 3. And finally, steroids to shrink up the inflammation.
