Tough problem: Some people have sensitive skin that is prone to shaving bumps/folliculitis, and you may consider alternate methods of hair removal (depilatories - the gentle ones, laser hair removal - which may cause irritation, that will likely resolve, but hopefully w/decreased hair growth). ...Read more

Over the years I've been dealing with embarrassing breakouts on my vaginal area, like hair bumps, risens. How can I prevent those issues? Ph balanced

Sometimes taking antibiotics for a prolong time might help prevent recurrence. pH balance has nothing to do with it. ...Read more

The bikini line area is the area that is safer to shave and to avoid secondary acne, abscesses or folliculitis you may want to wash with betadine soap you could buy at the drugstore. Can I use a neutrogena acne pads after shaving my head as a hair bump preventer instead of using an actually After shave preventer. For ex (bump patrl?

Stick with soothing: My guess is that the acne pads wouldn't work as well. It seems that shea butter and tea tree oil are the ingredients that contribute to soothing the hair follicles and skin in the After Shave and Bump Preventer (which is really interesting...have never heard of such a thing!). Neutrogena acne pads are intentionally more drying containing alcohol and salicylic acid. Good wishes:) ...Read more

It won't work: Ketoconazole is an anti-fungal antibiotic. It works only against fungal infections, including seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff). It will not work against folliculitis, the usual cause of genital bumps or hair bumps caused by shaving. These are not fungal infections. See your doctor about it. Or stop shaving; maybe use a hair removal cream. ...Read more
