Weight loss: Eating 5000 calories equals gaining one pound of body wight. We burn about 1500 calories per day with normal activities. To lose 5 pounds in a week would be only temporary water weight loss and is unhealthy too. Jogging for 30 minutes equals only about 250 calories burned. You would have to jog all day and eat nothing. Exercise raises your metabolic rate for awhile after you finish in addition to burning the calories associated with the exercise.
