Not a good plan: Intermittent fasting may not be a good plan, because every time you do that, you slow your metabolism. You want to increase muscle also -- not lose it as you can through fasting. Muscle burns more calories to maintain, than fat does. Why?: Total fasting is likely the worst way to lose weight since most of the weight you will lose will be water and fasting cannot be sustained. It would be more effective and healthier for you to limit your fat and carb (plus total calories) intake plus exercising regularly . Fasting: Fasting is never a good way to lose weight. It generally slows your metabolism and contributes to the yo-yo effect of losing weight and regaining it back plus more.
