It depends,,,: First of all kids need to eat and grow so they need to consume food. But autistic kids have very restricted diets, and often crave the very food that is not good for them. The restricted diets are often not nutritionally complete. Different diets: gluten free, casein free, soy free, gaps, and feingold, have all been reported to help some, but not all. Make her feel safe.: Kids are normally shy when they are young. You do not mention your child´s age, but being shy is part of a personality trait and not a disease. Most people, adults and children alike feel shy when they are around strangers or large gatherings, not to mention when they have to give a presentation at school. Structure/consist: Children with adhd lack the internal processes that those without adhd develop by 4th or 5th to efficiently organize their lives; this may get better with time, or not. Green and organic: Any child can be sensitive to artificial ingredients. I think the biggest offenders are artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. So as organic as you can reasonably find is good. Other than that, unless they have an allergy to a food, give them whatever they will eat. Parents can help young children learn how to make friends by teaching them concepts such as sharing, compassion, and conflict resolution and how to choose good friends and resist negative influences. Get them involved in: Activities that will build self confidence. Acting classes, dance, music all include some recitals/performances. Pick something that the child enjoys and hopefully can excel in. Programs like the girl or boy scouts also help by getting them involved in groups and by getting acheivment badges.
