Come On.: It is impossible to determine healing time without first knowing what was damaged. With your history, frankly, I'm surprised that you haven't been to your surgeon for a proper assessment. SEE YOUR PCP AND HE OR SHE MAY REFER YOU TO AN ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON.
OR HE MAY SEND YOU TO THE X-RAY DEPARTMENT TO MAKE SURE NO BONES WERE BROKEN.

Yes, a sprain can get worse. Usually 3-4 weeks of rest, icing, antiinflammatory meds (like advil (ibuprofen) or motrin), bracing or compressing wraps, with or without physical therapy should be normal.
