Swallowed a nail~: hello ~ well, that depends. If it was painted you may see it when you pass it and if not then you wont and that may make you worry more. Don't. Indeed: Acrylic nails starve the "real" nail surface of oxygen which encourages fungal growth. Also, as the nails separate over time, moisture can seep underneath them increasing fungal growth.
