Get a scar consult: If you have a scar, then it is best to have a consultation with a derm or plastic surgeon earlier than later. The earlier you get treatment, the better the results. Improve, not remove: Scars are permanent. Having said that, there are ways to make them less noticeable. The first is time: scars mature over 6-18 months and don't assume their final form till then. Other methods are pressure, silicone sheeting, mederma, steroid injections or surgery. Surgery is a last resort for most scars, but many can be improved in this way if all else fails. ...Read more

Manage it: Listen friend. Most of what you read / hear about acne is not true. You'll scar from a bad pimple whether or not it pops. If it's this severe, you need to prevent new pimples from forming -- you can do nothing about what's happened. Keep loading on the topical benzoyl peroxide and/or retinoic acid and get with your physician to add some prescription Rx for a few months. Best wishes. ...Read more
Hi, I have a mark/scar/bald spot on the back of my head which I was told was caused by a brain scan when I was a baby. Can I get rid of it?
Need to examine:
It is unlikely that the bald spot is due to an imaging study. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you. If the spot is not too big, you would do well to cover it with hair from the surrounding areas. If it is of bigger cosmetic concern, you may consult a plastic surgeon.
