I have sores on the side of my tongue that really hurt. What can I do to get rid of them? Or prevent them from appearing
Decrease acid: Many of my patients with mouth sores drink or eat a lot of acidic foods or beverages. I have them stop drinking coffee, tea and sodas and stay away from oranges orange juice tomatoes or other acidic foods and drinks. I also have them rinse their mouths after each meal with maalox liquid. They also rinse their mouths before they go to bed.
