Laser: Laser hair removal is an effective way to get rid of the hair permanently. This would avoid getting ingrown hairs and razor bumps. Electrolysis is another option but it's more time consuming since each hair has to be treated individually.

Extract: Many times the hair will work its way out, but sometimes, it will need to be extracted with a sterile needle by a physician or nurse. If an infection is present oral antibiotics may be necessary. Warm compresses and topical antibiotics like Bacitracin or neosporin could help for mild cases. I don't think noxema will help. Laser hair removal is very effective for preventing ingrowns.

Pimple: Warm sitz baths. Gentle cleansing with mild soap and warm water. It will take some time but should resolve. Do not "pop", pinch or put any kind of acne medicine on it! That will only serve to cause greater inflammation and pain. If it grows in size our persists more than a couple of days see your doc for evaluation.

How do I get rid of ingrown hairs? I have it on the back of my head for a while now.

Ingrown hairs: This is a common problem in some races. The most practical way is to let the hair grow long. Then the curled ends can't pierce thru the follicle or back into the skin. Often you need to be on an antibiotic to treat the folliculitis until the hair grows sufficiently. Go see your dermatologist. There are other treatments such as laser available for some people as well.

Wash well: Wet a clean washcloth with warm water and put it on the bumps. When the cloth cools, reheat it with warm water and put it back on the area. Repeat these steps for 10 to 15 minutes, 3 times a day. Do not shave the area that has folliculitis. That will just irritate it more.
