How To Get Rid Of Hernia Without Surgery
I believe that I have a hiatal hernia due to the symptoms I have, what can I do to get rid of it? Also, can I do regular exercise i.E. Gym work.
Not likely: Your gastric symptoms should be treated by medications to reduce acid in the stomach. Only severe hiatal hernia symptoms need surgical repair. Most of them can be managed by lifestyle changes (weight loss, cessation of tobacco and alcohol, regular exercise etc). Gym should be fine. Hopefully you have had an upper endoscopy and xray studies to make an accurate diagnosis. ...Read more

I have a hiael hernia in my esphogous and had every treatment for that, yet iam still having great discomfort, is surgery next?
Surgery is an option: If you have a symptomatic hiatal hernia and the traditional medical treatments haven't been successful then surgery is worthwhile to consider. Discuss with your medical doctor if you are fit enough for general anesthesia and then meet with a surgeon who is well versed in laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair. The surgery can lead to a markedly improve quality of life, if the right doctor is seen. ...Read more
If I have an hernia ingunal of 11mm, do you recommend surgery? Otherwise what treatment do you recommend me? Many thanks. I also have pubalgia
Hernia: Not necessarily. If it does not bother you, is not increasing in size and does not incarcerate (get stuck) then you do not absolutely need to fix it. If, however, the above things are happening or it is a larger hernia thru a small defect in the muscle then it is better to fix it early vs later. ...Read more

If umbilical hernia not cause pain but if person want treatment of it without surgery so what he/she do?
Surgery or wait/see: Watchful waiting can be an option for small umbilical hernias, where it's very unlikely for bowel to enter & get stuck (incarcerated). Large umbilical hernias can also be left alone if it's very unlikely for bowel to get incarcerated. However, only option for hernias of any sort is surgical repair to prevent painful incarceration & strangulation of bowel. Best to go see surgeon for his/her opinion. ...Read more
Is surgery the only treatment of inguinal hernia in a toddler? Is there any other option if it's not that bad?
Not that bad???: It may not be hurting him now but would you really want to face the risk. This means there is a defect in the tissues that keep his intestines in place in the abdomen. If a loop of intestines slip out and get trapped, the blood supply can be cut off and lead to dead bowel. Emergency surgery in the middle of the night is never a good idea. Once identified this should be fixed within 2 weeks or less ...Read more

I have talk with a doctor he said is hernia in my bali. He telling that do not have any treatment without surgery. Hernia is early stage. So?
Pain inside scrotum persists even after hernia repair and after orchiectomy, in a 61 year-old.....?
Questionable treatment, unless indirect inguinal hernia shown first.: Testicular &/or scrotal pain can notoriously be difficult to manage and often does not respond to epididymectomy. Certainly removal of testicle should not have been performed unless testicle was very tender. Various regimes utilized by pain clinics should have been tried first & certainly should be tried now including possible acupuncture. There is also possibility of referred pain. Surgery often does not help with this kind of pain unless it is due to intermittent trusts torsion in which case fixation of testis, to prevent twisting of spermatic cord, takes care of problem. Wish I could be of more help. ...Read more
I have had 3 hernia surgeries and now a nother one is back. How to prevent them from coming back?
Depends: There is no magic bullet, but the use of an implanted prosthetic to reinforce the area can help make it less likely that the hernia will recur. Other factors that contribute to hernia formation is chronic coughing in patients with COPD or who smoke, and being overweight. If those factors are present, then your pcp can help you remedy those. ...Read more
