Is it possible to get rid of a cavity by myself?

Is it possible to get rid of a cavity by myself?

No: A cavity is a hole in a tooth with infected tooth material lining the hole/ there's no way to treat it yourself. Have your dentist fix it now before the infection gets out of control. The longer you wait, the bigger the cavity, the bigger the investment of time and money to fix. Please put down the computer, tick up the phone, and call your dentist. Infections need immediate attention.

Is there a good type of toothpaste or anything I can use to get rid of cavities?

Is there a good type of toothpaste or anything I can use to get rid of cavities?

Advanced: If you can see cavities, they are too big to be helped by toothpaste that may help remineralize small enamel defects no larger than the head of a pin. You probably need professional care rather than the promise of an otc solution that will never be fulfilled. Please call your family dentist for an appointment.

I have been told that I have to forming cavities. What is the best way to get rid of them before they become a cavity?

I have been told that I have to forming cavities. What is the best way to get rid of them before they become a cavity?

Fluoride tray: Great answer by dr. Gordon, but I also want to make a note that Fluoride is best used with a tray, to preserve the adequate concentration on surface of tooth and tooth root for at least 30 minutes. Fluoride works by adsorption, of which electron exchange on the surface, not by absorption. Oral hygiene is also important, specifcally mechanical cleaning (brushing) and flossing.

What can I do to get rid of bad breath caused by a cavity?

What can I do to get rid of bad breath caused by a cavity?

Fix it: Let your dentist restore the cavity. I am not sure that one cavity will cause bad breath, as it is more complex condition with several origins. Check your gums, especially bleeding when flossing.

How can you get rid of a cavity without going to the dentist?

How can you get rid of a cavity without going to the dentist?

You can't: A cavity is a hole in a tooth caused by bacteria. To fix it requires removing the infected portion of the tooth and placing a restorative material. It's not a diy project. Your dentist spent 8 years learning how to do this with care and efficiency. Take advantage of his expertise now, or wait awhile and you probably will have to deal with a raging abscess. Your choice.

How can I get rid of a tooth cavity?

Teeth: You cannot get rid of a cavity. That is why you need a dentist. If the cavity is real small then you can discuss with a dentist about a type of tooth paste called mi paste which can reverse the cavity but only if it's small enough. Otherwise, the dentist will need to fill the cavity. A cavity is a hole in your tooth.

Can parasites really grow in sinus cavities. If so how in the world do you get rid if them? What do they look like? Any site I can go to to get info?

Can parasites really grow in sinus cavities. If so how in the world do you get rid if them? What do they look like? Any site I can go to to get info?

My brief review of: This question suggests that parasite infection of the sinuses remains rare, almost always in immunocompromised people such as those with HIV. It has been more recently appreciated that fungal infections of the sinuses are more common than previously thought. Diagnosis is made by obtaining some infected material and testing it. Treatment is challenging with "surgical" cleaning and antibiotics.

Will amoxcillin get rid of mucus in sinus cavities? On day 3 of med, still feeling dizzy and bouncy when I tilt head down.

Steroid inhaler: An antibiotic might be appropriate if one has a yellow or green nasal discharge, especially if associated with painful sinuses and/or fever. If the discharge is clear, sinuses are pain-free, and there is no fever, a more appropriate medication might be an inhaled steroid such as Flonase (1-2 inhalations every 12 hours for7-10 days). If symptoms persist, see your md or an ear, nose and throat doc.

What's the best way to get rid of a chronic sinus infection? An MRI shows a completely clogged sinus cavity in the cheek area.

MRI=poor sinus film: Mri's are notoriously inaccurate for evaluating your sinuses, they frequently over estimate disease. If you didn't know your had sinus problems until you got your MRI and someone told you, you probably don't have a serious issue. A course of antibiotics is in order, along with follow at your local ENT to evaluate the situation.

Been told by my dentist-i need 2 hav extraction of 1root tip, n hav my teeth filled cause of cavities. Should I go to see ENT and gastroenterology for my bad breath problem. I just want to get rid of bad breath

Bad breath: The cavities and root tips are an obvious source of the bad breath. Any mouth problems should be dealt with first, cavities are rotting parts of teeth. If there is still a problem after the obvious then seek more obscure answer.

Sealing preexisting fillings to prevent new cavities all the cavities I get are not new but underneath my old fillings. Is there a way to use a sealant around the outside edges where a cavity meets the tooth to stop this?

That depends: Sealants can not be used around silver amalgam fillings. Sealants can not be used if there is already decay under or around an existing filling. If an exisiting composite filling has a small defect on a margin it can sometimes be repaired with sealant before any new decay developes.

Does diluting juice help prevent baby bottle tooth decay? I understand that juice has sugar, and the sugar can cause cavities. I’ve read that diluting it with water makes it less likely your baby will get baby bottle tooth decay. I only give him juice a f

Replace don't dilute: The sugar will change the acid/base balance in his mouth while there & for about an hour after drinking the juice. The longer it's in his mouth, the more decay you will see. Consult with your dentist & pediatrician, and determine a way to give him food on intervals and something with no sugar (like water) the rest of the time. This can save you loads of time, $$ and pain. Good luck!
