I got a boil on my scrotum and I think it's from a ingrown hair since I just shaved down there. Any thing I can get from the store to help?

Antibiotics?: You'll probably need antibiotics and depending on the size of the boil possibly an incision and drainage. Don't wait to get help, sometimes these can spread "down there" very fast and be life threatening....especially if you are a diabetic. Go see your doctor and you'll be OK. ...Read more

How do I tell the difference between a boil & an ingrown hair in an armpit and do physicians deaden before lancing?

Skin lesions: You may not be able to tell the difference, but the doctor draining this may. Whether they will use a local anesthetic will depend upon the size and position of the "boil". Lancing this is generally not very much more painful than the lesion itself and you will gain much relief from the drainage. Best wishes. ...Read more

Ingrown hairs may be the source so if this becomes a recurrent problem, consider laser hair removal. This is possible if the hair has some pigment to it. ...Read more
