Maybe but need tests

Surgery on your ovaries, including ovarian cyst removal, may reduce your ovarian reserve (egg supply), and your cyst surgery could have created scar tissue around the tube or the ovary that had the cysts - but it's unlikely to have affected both tubes or both ovaries. See a Reproductive Endocrinologist to look for other factors like sperm issues (can affect 40-50%), hormonal or ovulation problems.

Depends...

What kind of surgery did you have? A salpingostomy (opening of tube and removal of ectopic), or a salpingectomy (removal of ectopic and tube)? Also, the ectopic could be elsewhere besides the tube. Your surgeon should be able to give a "safe" range.

Not the Mirena

It is normal to take 12 months to conceive. The Mirena has no lasting ill effects on fertility. If you haven't gotten pregnant after a few more months of trying (having intercourse every 2-3 days around the middle of your cycle), see your gyn. Be sure you are taking a multivitamin with folic acid daily.

The

The important thing about when to start an ovulation predictor kit is to make sure you start it before you expect to ovulate. The number of days from when you ovulate to when your period starts is very fixed. It is not longer than 14 days. The number of days from when you start your period to when you ovulate can be variable. The best way to figure out when to start is to take your shortest cycle length and subtract 16 days. For example, if your cycle varies between 32 and 36 days, you should subtract 16 from 32 to get 16. You would start testing on cycle day 16 with the first day being the day of an actual flow (not spotting). If your cycles are always 36 days then you would start on cycle day 20. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

because of ectopic pregnancy 1 of my fallopian tube removed and am trying to conceive and taking 5 mg folic acid suppliment daily is it overdose?

Answered by:
Dr. Frederick Friedman
Obstetrics and Gynecology

It is excessive

For the prevention of neural tube (and maybe other birth) defects, 400 micrograms of folic acid is recommended. For individuals with a history of having an affected child, we often recommend 4milligrams (10x the usual dose.) The dose you are taking is more than recommended, but will likely not be harmful, since it is water soluble and the excess will likely be excreted.

I am not

...an ObGyn but I believe if the orthodox natural way fails one coud harvest the eggs from after hormonal stimulation, fertilize them in vitro and than re-implant the fertilized eggs / embryos into the uterus. HOWEVER, I would highly suggest you to discuss the issue with your ObGyn!

There are procedures available to re-attach the fallopian tubes. Talk to your ob-gyn doctor about wether this procedure would work in your case. Good luck.

Bypass tubes

The cost may still be an issue but tube reversal is not always successful. A fertility center can harvest some of your eggs and fertilize them with dads sperm. The resulting combo can be placed in your womb at the appropriate time after your body has been prepared to receive the embryos.
