Do not remove it: The medication is designed to absorb into the skin over several days, and of course some will come back out in your underwear. No need to remove it. It will all absorb, come back out, or wash away all on its own over about a week or two. ...Read more

Hi I took monistat 1 (tioconazole). I am burning badly. How do I get it out?

You could make a...: ...douche with saline solution (1/2 tsp of salt for every eight ounces of warm water) and try to irrigate it out. But, most likely, by the time you did that, the burning will have subsided and the damage (irritation) already done, so to speak. You still need treatment. A doctor could prescribe an oral medication for you that will clear up the infection w/o causing more irritation. ...Read more

I just used Monistat 1, (tioconazole) placed the ovule in about 9am. I went to the bathroom 2 hrs later and some of it came out. Do I need to get another dose?

YES/NO: This is a problem with the Ovules, You may had noticed that it's recommend that you insert it before bed when you're laying down. Even then, it can plop out before completely dissolved if you use the bathroom. It takes 2-3 days for the symptoms to resolve. If you think you can wait, get another if you still have symptoms. I DO recommend inserting it before bed in any case. Best wishes! ...Read more

Rinse it out: You may get local burning irritation if you happen to have a sensitivity to the Monistat ingredients. This is rare, and in fact I have never heard of it occurring. If you do experience those symptoms, then just rinse it out with clear water. Call your doctor if burning and irritation symptoms continue. ...Read more

I self diagnosed myself with a yeast infection. Took monistat 1- it burned really bad and tried to scrape some out but only small amount came out. Do I need to redo monistat or get pills?

Yeast? Allergy?: Monistat and similar treatments usually are very effective against vaginal yeast infections, and it probably will work. However, it is possible to be allergic to monistat, perhaps explaining the pain with application. See a doctor for professional diagnosis and recommended treatment. Good luck! ...Read more

What to do if I used Monistat 1 (tioconazole) day/night two days ago. When will this torture end!?

What to do if I used Monistat 1 (tioconazole) day/night two days ago. When will this torture end!?

Maybe something else: Monistat is actually quite good and people often feel some relief in 24-48 hours, although some residual symptoms may persist longer. If your symptoms are severe and not abating, other infections should be considered. Bacterial vaginitis may not improve at all with monistat. Herpes can be very painful. Trichomonas needs special antibiotics. So, I suggest seeing doc asap. Good luck. ...Read more
