Not if steroids...: ...Were the correct treatment. Likely need to see pulmonologist asap for further evaluation, testing and medication modification. Thick, tenacious mucus can clog and cling to bronchi, and ultimately if successful, block them leading to pneumonia or lobar collapse. Expectorants help liquefy and loosen.
