Don't do it: If you have wax stuck on your eardrum don't use a syringe. You first have to soften the wax with the use of over-the-counter wax softening agents. Then syringing might be helpful. In general i discourage my patients from doing anything to their ears as invariably they make things worse. Ear tube fell out 15 years later. Very possible perforated ear drum but the ear may still be impacted with wax. Will a doctor try to flush out the wax?

Yes, but: It is possible but not advisable. Ear wax medicine causes irritation and inflammation of the ear canal skin and this inflammation only leads to the ear being angry and upset. The ear canal when angry and upset just makes more wax. I almost never advise my patients to use this type of medicine preferring for them to just leave their ears alone. ...Read more
Tx eustachian tube: More than likely your eustachian tubes are not doing their job to equalize the pressure in your ears. Use an oral decongestant or oxymetazoline nasal spray as directed. Then you can pinch your nostrils shut and gently/carefully blow your nose. You should feel a little pressure change in your ears but it may not clear initially.
