I use a needle: When these come into the office it is often because parents have not been able to get them out. I rely on magnification/light & the business end of an injection needle to scoop the splinter out. If it is superfical enough, i don't need to numb the area with anesthetic. Foreign body: Not necessarily. And the fact that you have pus coming out of the foot shows that there is an infectious process. I would recommend evaluation by a podiatrist asap. First find it.: At this point, there are only two good options. Either wait to see if time and pressure will force the foreign body out or have it checked by a specialist.
