Liver, not kidney...: Flagyl is removed by the liver, there are no dosage adjustments for decreased kidney function, the only concerning factor would be if he was on dialysis. Unfortunately optic neuropathy (vision loss) is a very rare side effect after use of Flagyl. ...Read more

Luckily the half-life of the drug is 8 hrs or so, so it should be clearing out of your system in a day or slightly longer... (in 8 hours, half of the drug will be gone, then in 16 hours half of that...so soon it will be gone).
