Is it healthy to eat soaked, uncooked steel cut oats? I'm getting mixed messages about the health benefits and difficulties of digesting whole grains.

When I eat oat meal in the morning with brown toast and 2 packets of splenda my blood sugar goes way up. Why is that?

Healthy breakfast: Hi. Oatmeal and whole wheat toast is a very healthy breakfast. Splenda — meh! But oatmeal and 100% whole wheat toast still has quite a bit of digestible carbohydrate. Cereal in general, even healthy whole grain ones are brutal on blood sugar. Many type 2's need insulin; meal insulins would sure help that. The GLP-1 agonist drugs are also GREAT for covering meals.
