How To Drain Lymph Nodes Naturally
How can I drain my lymph nodes naturally? This is just to treat a cold that is already one week old and causes extreme fatigue.
Maybe Unnecessary: While it would be okay to use warm moist heat and short-duration gentle massage on enlarged lymph nodes, I do not feel that will "treat" your cold or speed recovery. Lymph nodes are basically reservoirs for debris from a virus/bacterial infection. I would encourage conservative measures for a cold such as rest and otc medications. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well. ...Read more
Please put in perspective: Concerned about tattoo ink draining in lymph nodes (laser removal). Do the nodes trap worse things? (Ie environment)
No Worries: Your lymphatic system is made to basically "take out the garbage". May it be bacteria from an infection or ink from a laser treatment, the lymph system clears these from your body. The treated ink is trapped in the lymph nodes and transported by the lymphatic system to the large veins in your body and then secreted out. This is how your body gets rid of unwanted cells. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have a fever blister and swollen lymph nodes and just don't feel good, is that pretty normal with a fever blister? Just feel drained.
Not really...: Ususally there's no lymph node swelling or systemic symptoms ("feel drained") in recurrent oral herpes (fever blister, cold sore). But outbreaks often are triggered by infections that cause these symptoms. Probably that's what's going on. A brand new herpes infection could do this, but unlikely with only a single sore and no new exposure. See doctor if symptoms severe or last more than 3-4 days. ...Read more
