I've been exercising and doing daily unweighted squats for 7-8 months, a month ago while doing my normal squatts my hip started to hurt. What is wrong?
Tendonitis/bursitis: Tendonitis or bursitis is the likely cause. Try to lay off the exercise for about two weeks. Ice your hip two times a day for a week or until you are pain free. Anti inflammatory meds may help also. Gradually resume your activity. If the discomfort recurs, consider seeing a doc for an evaluation. X-rays or physical therapy may be recommended.

Low Back Pain: Squats can put a great deal of pressure on your discs if you do not maintain proper form. Any loss of lordosis (sway back) can increase the pressure on the forward portion of the disc causing it to bulge back and potentially be injured. Associated muscle spasm and pain can occur.
