Agree w Dr. Wells: Severe, chronic ptsd may last a lifetime - especially if complex. Ptsd resolves for some. It becomes more hardwired in with time. Thus intervention is imperative to return toward normal function. Cognitive processing therapy (a form of cbt) is the gold standard.
