Nerve pain: No. Lipomas do not attach to nerves. The pain that you describe is likely from inflammation of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (meralgia paresthetica). Other alternatives include pain from a nerve sheath tumor (neurofibroma), a pinched nerve in the lumbar spine, and less likely is a hip injury. See a neurologist or neurosurgeon the evaluate the pain. ...Read more
