According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

My period is 2 days late as per my cycle .Can home pregnancy test confirm the same?

Home pregnancy tests are very accurate.: They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  if you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more

Folic : Folic acid is the synthetic derivative of folate, (folic acid) which is found naturally in food so they are essentially the same thing. Folic acid/folate is important in preventing spina bifida or open neural tube defects early in pregnancy during organogenesis (weeks 5-8) is considered very important. Ideally women should be taking prenatal vitamins and Folic Acid before conceiving however 50% of pregnancies are unplanned. You are doing the right thing by taking the prenatal vitamins as soon as you found out. I wouldn't worry too much. Your doctor will discuss screening tests available early in pregnancy to evaluate how healthy the pregnancy. Together you can make plans and decisions about how to proceed. Congratulations and best wishes. ...Read more

Positive (faint line) home pregnancy test 2/18, urine test at doc. Confirmed pregnancy. Home test again 2/22 still very faint + line, is this normal?

Yes: I would be concerned if home test went from positive to negative. If you're having a lot of anxiety over this see if your doctor will repeat your serum pregnancy test in a few days, but i would not worry too much. It won't help to be overly stressed. ...Read more

Its 7 dpo too soon to get a home pregnancy test or a blood test?Or can I get an ultrasound that confirms if I am pregnant Cause I am not feeling good.

Too soon to test: Conception, as defined by the generation of a fertilized ovum, occurs within day or so of the sex. However, it takes about 2-3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG to produce a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully. ...Read more
