How Should I Get My Unmotivated Body To Work Out
Well.: I would probably start by turning off the tv, getting off the couch or lazy boy and throwing away the bag of cheetos. You need to start with a realistic schedule so as to not get discouraged. Go for a walk, ride a bike. Do something outdoors so as to make it not seem like you are working out. If you enjoy what you are doing it will help. Change your diet. Its all about small baby steps. Yes, get help: You are describing classic symptoms of depression, including feeling too bad about yourself to get a haircut. Although your weight gain makes it, harder to be around people, gaining weight probably marked the start of your depression. I'm depressed and fight anxiety, extremely fatigued, very stressed out. I don't want to take medication, dr doesn't support this. What can help me get bak on track? I am just so tired and unmotivated.
Alternatives: Your dr might be right and the best course of action would be meds. However, as a patient, and mostly if there is no serious risk to you or others, you may consider non-pharmacological approaches (psychotherapy, other alternative approved tools). Lifestyle changes (you mention stress, fatigue, anxiety; vacation, diet, leisure, sports, etc) along with dr guidance/checkups, may do miracles sometimes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Hello. I used to be very lazy in school and was generally very unmotivated. At the same time I had a bully. Could this be the cause of my bad grades
Could be the bully.: Honestly, it's very difficult to be successful in your schoolwork, and even to have the motivation to go to school at all, if you know that when you get to school you'll encounter a bully. People who are bullied at school can get bad grades as they're too distracted by the bully to concentrate. Sometimes they're even truant so they don't have to face the bully. ...Read more

Possibly.: Caffeine can be addictive. Getting free of the addiction is easier if you replace it with something healthy that increases heart rate and circulation and causes endorphins to be secreted (they make you feel good). My recommendation is to do aerobic exercise (with your physician's approval only) which will accomplish all of the above. It will also make you much healthier than caffiene! ...Read more
Could be side effect: Two possibilities come to mind: 1) perhaps, compared to your energy level off stimulants, you "feel" different and interpret that as lazyness; or, 2) it may be a genuine side effect, because some people do report a "zombie" effect with stimulants. In either case, might try a lower dose and see if you can get benefit without that feeling. Or, try a different adhd medication. ...Read more
A 68 year old diabetic that feels low and unenthusiastic and unmotivated wants something to feel bright and happy again.
I agree with Dr Venter that Diabetics have a high propensity for developing depression. However also exclude poorly controlled diabetes with either too many hypos or hypers - can be excluded with continuous glucose monitoring e.g. Abbott Freestyle Libre.
Also exclude B12 deficiency commonly seen in Metformin users.
