Breast augmentation.: This has been the top cosmetic operation for all but one of the past several years (liposuction beat it out by a slim margin the year before last, but this past year breast implants again regained "first place.") but what really does the best is dealing with the area that concerns each individual the most, regardless of "popularity.". ...Read more

.

Asian blepharoplasty: Forming a connection between the skin/orbicularis muscle and the levator aponeurosis to form a supratarsal crease is one of the goals of asian blepharoplasty. For the appropriately selected patient, the suture method of asian eyelid surgery can work well. For many patients, the incisional type is a better option due to the accessibility of tissue for debulking and permanence of crease formation. ...Read more

Does anyone at this location have plenty of experience performing hysterscopic myomectomies the traditional way versus the robotic way?

Does anyone at this location have plenty of experience
performing hysterscopic myomectomies the traditional way versus the robotic way?

Yes: A hysteroscopic myomectomy is the best approach for submucosal fibroids < 3.5 cm located inside the cavity of the uterus. The robotic myomectomy is best for subserosal fibroids that are coming from the outer surface of the uterus. For fibroids deeply embedded in the wall of the uterus, robotic myomectomies are possible but more difficult so consider a hysterectomy if childbearing is complete. ...Read more

If cancer is found during a different operation, will the surgeon stop the current surgery?

Situational: I think it is difficult to give a blanket statement to cover any situation. For example, if i was performing gallbladder (gb)surgery on someone who was having bad attacks and i found what looked like a colon cancer, i would proceed with the gb surgery since it would not interfere w/the subsequent cancer operation. However, if i saw a liver or bile duct tumor next to the gb, i would stop.Gr8 question! ...Read more

Why do some surgeons prefer scissors to laser to labiaplasty or the other way around? I am a 45-year-old female, and I am scheduled for labiaplasty surgery in two weeks. How long is the recovery for either method? Is any particular method associated with

Choice & marketing: It comes down to a matter of opinion, preference, opinion as well as the marketing benefits of advertising the use of the laser. Laser users claim it causes less injury. While injury is minimal, thermal injury is still there and something must be used to control bleeding (usually cautery) the same is true with scalpel (cut) or scissors (crush) although the thermal injury is zero. ...Read more

Not usually: Liposuction can be done under local or general anesthesia. The recovery is usually very quick. I often perform laser liposculpture under local anesthesia, and it is quite tolerable. How can one know how many surgeries a doctor has performed? Read that when getting a thyroidectomy, it is very important to know how many thyroidectomies the surgeon has performed. The more surgeries, the less the risk of complication.

How can one know how many surgeries a doctor has performed? Read that when getting a thyroidectomy, it is very important to know how many thyroidectomies the surgeon has performed. The more surgeries, the less the risk of complication.

This : This is a difficult question to answer, as there are no specific sites that record the number of surgical procedures that one surgeon performs. A board certified general surgeon or an ENT surgeon usually indicates a surgeon who maintains a degree of current knowledge and expertise that usually includes thyroid surgery. Your state medical board may have some quality reports, and your insurance company may also know specialists in your area that have experience in thyroid surgery. Maybe the best way is to ask your family physician who is good, and also ask your surgeon their experience. You can also get more than one surgical opinion as well, asking each one their experience. I also agree with the previous doctor's answer who said that asking a local hospital nurse can be very helpful. ...Read more

Good operation..: Hard to explain in a short answer but this procedure is used to improve the blending of the lower eyelid/cheek junction and fill the hollow (tear trough) that develops below the eyelids with aging and descent of the cheek soft tissues. Can be thought of as a hybrid between midface lift and bleph alone. Costs vary: about $5, 000 where i am. Healing and bruising time about 10-14 days. ...Read more
