How Old Is Too Old To Join The Military
Natural or assisted?: I believe unassisted pregnancy into the fifth decade has been reported. It is rare now since risks of a genetic defect are so high. Assisted pregnancy (internationally) with mom having special care & donor embryo has been reported as late as ~60 if memory serves me right. Sadly, i believe that mom died a few years later. There are amazing things we can do, but whether we should do them is ?
Not the issue: Dad's can produce babies forever - the age of the mom is important for safety of the mom and health of the baby. You need to decide how old is too old - you want to make sure that you are able to enjoy your child and their milestones.
None: Although uncomfortable and there are other accurate ways to measure body temperature as one gets older, it can always be done.
Looked it up and all of these are signs of neuroblastoma. But how old is too old to be diagnosed with that?
Adults get disease: While the vast majority of patients who are diagnosed with neuroblastoma are young (<10 years old), adults (defined as those >20 years old) can get the disease. Thus, it is never too old to be diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Getting a 2nd opinion for a new adult diagnosis of neuroblastoma would be a quite reasonable thing to do, given how rare it is.See 1 more doctor answer
Varies: Natural conception is difficult over age 40, and rare after age 43. Reproductive aging affects eggs, since older women have more abnormal eggs with chromosome defects and fewer available. Since the uterus can hold pregnancy until advanced ages with hormone support, it is possible to carry a pregnancy with donor eggs until at least the early 50s.See 1 more doctor answer
U into history ?: According to the bible, abraham (abram) fathered the child isaac at the age of 99, although this could be argued as by divine intervention. It is not unusual for men in their 60's to do so in recent history.
No precise age: The question is perhaps best answered when the risks of the procedure outweigh the benefits. This occurs at different ages for different patients. It can be a vexing problem if patients are unrealistic about their rehabilitation potential and their goals. It is not common for a kidney transplant to be done over age 75 but a few are done each year, even for healthy octogenarians.See 2 more doctor answers
Depends on health: While there is no real 'cut off' age for surgical treatment of tn, it is generally known that older individuals, and patients with more medical conditions, can have more post operative complications and slower recovery. Rather than age, general health needs to be considered. I have operated on "healthy" 70 - 80 year olds with this condition with no problems.See 1 more doctor answer
Depends: Depends on what tests the psychologist uses. Some are good for kids till 22 years old, one can be used on people 6 years of age and above.See 2 more doctor answers
Depends: Men in good health produce sperm well into their later years; there are reports of men fathering children into their 90s. That said, as fathers get older, the risk of certian genetic problems increases, and the ability of a man to help out with child care and watch their child grow up is very dependant on the health of the man, which can deteriorate with age.
Risks /age: The answer is a difficult one as so many issues can be overlooked & facts are a bit dry. All pregnancies face a 4% risk of some unexpected outcome.Additional risks must be added that factor age and family tree.A woman goes from ~1/100 risk of down syndrome at 40 to 1/12 at 49. There are options that include donor eggs & assisted pregnancy that have been done by women up into their 50, s and beyond.
No specific age: Our fertility decreases as we age and pcos adds to decreased fertility but there is no specific age that is "too old". 35 years old is considered advanced maternal age because the incidence of chromosomal anomalies increases a lot more starting at that age. Still, most of the babies will be normal.
Age is relative: The decision to get breast implants in a personal one and age is seldom a factor. Before making the decision a woman should be fully informed and generallly in good enough health for the operation. Being fully informed means understanding the risks of the initial procedire and that down the road chances are additional surgery will be required.See 4 more doctor answers
When a child has tight heel cords & toe walks, how old is "too old" for serial casting to be effectv?
Usually < 2years old: Tight heel cords can cause toe walking. However, a condition called tethered cord, where the spinal cord is attached to the base of the spine and stretches the spinal cord can result in later toe walking and decreased reflexes in older child. Mri to rule out tethered cord is important before serial casting or other treatment is undertaken. Tethered cord requires neurosurgery to the cord.See 1 more doctor answer
