Constipation: Fleet enemas can be used safely in pregnancy but should not be your first choice for constipation. Constipation in pregnancy should be treated with the following, in this order: 1. Fiber supplement and increased hydration 2. Oral stool softener (like docusate) 3. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) or milk of magnesia, or other oral pro-motility agent 4. Ask your doctor: This is a very specific question. Presumably, your colorectal surgeon or gastroenterologist performed the injections for a spastic sphincter.
