How Much Time Does It Take Claritin To Work
Who knows: Work for what? Claritin supposedly starts working within 90 minutes. But Claritin is also the weakest binding antihistamine sold over the counter. Personally, I feel Claritin is a waste of money. Use a stronger antihistamine like fexofenadine or Cetirizine which cause minimal to no sedation. Use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) only at nighttime because it can make you drowsy.See 1 more doctor answer
I am currently taking one tablet a day of generic form of Claritin for my seasonal allergies. Sometimes they work great other times, like today, they don't work at all. My question is: Should I take more than one dose within 24 hours since they do seem to
Don't exceed dosage: Better not to exceed recommended OTC dosage unless seen by an MD, which you might want to do, as you might need another prescription medication to control your symptoms, goodluck
I get headaches from allergies. Can I take Claritin (loratadine) and zyrtec at the same time? Claritin (loratadine) didn't work alone when I traveled away from home.
Yes, but: Both Claritin (loratadine) and zyrtec (cetirizine) are new generation antihistamines. While there is no harm to using them together, there is likely no added benefit either. The most effective treatment for nasal allergies is the topical nasal steroid sprays such as qnasl, flonase, veramyst, nasonex, (mometasone) etc if a person doesn't have relief with an antihistamine alone.
Up to 1 hour: Claritin (loratadine) can work relatively quickly in most people. That is, it usually works within 30 minutes. However, in some people it may take up to 60 minutes to have its full effect. If it is not working within that time, or if the duration of effect becomes less and less, seeing an allergy specialist for allergy testing would be recommended as other treatments may be more effective.See 1 more doctor answer
Yes: Yes, no problem. Loratadine is safe to take before 24 hours is up.
Yes: The two medications do not conflict with each other and may be used at the same time.
Loratidine: Can be taken again after 24h. See information sheet below. Https://www. Drugs. Com/dosage/loratadine.html However if it isn't working it may be that you need a consult with a doctor licensed in your area to make sure that the medication is the right thing for your condition.See 1 more doctor answer

I'm sensitive when it comes to medication, I want to take Claritin (loratadine) but will it still work if I get the childrens kind?
Possibly: The children's dose might not be strong enough. If so just increase to the adult dose (10mg).See 2 more doctor answers
My husband swears Loratadine doesn't work for him unless he takes 20mg BID. What is the highest SAFE dose take?
Recommended dose: The recommended daily dose is 10 mg. It is fairly a safe medicine, but side effects may arise in high doses. It seems like he is tolerating the 40 mg/day dose. The high dose definition may vary from patient to patient according their body tolerance. As he requires a large dose, he might benefit from adding different class medicine, so that he can avoid the side effects from unconventional doses.See 1 more doctor answer
