My dachshund bit me yesterday on my finger... It's a little red where he bit me and some swelling. Yesterday did neosporin and bandage it up?
Small bite from a mini dachshund on the side of my face, it bled a bit, and i cleaned it with soap & water and neosporn, will it be fine on its own?
Dog bite: assuming dog is current with vaccines and you are as well (at least with tetanus) - it should heal on its own - I would continue the neosporin until it scabs over - Vit E (prick the capsule with a small needle) will help with any scarring after it scabs. Multiple bites or bites that penetrate into the mouth cavity need to be evaluated by a physician ...Read more

37 and allergic to mom's dachshund. Eyes are tearing, red and itch. Nose is runny and sneezing. Hate benadryl, (diphenhydramine) is 25mg hydrox-zine ok?
Sure.: Yes, hydroxyzine is fine, but it's fairly similar to Benadryl (diphenhydramine). You may prefer Zyrtec, Allegra or Claritin, as they won't make you as drowsy. Alaway and Zaditor are two OTC eyedrops that are fast acting and could help as well. You can even take both the eyedrops and Zyrtec, Allegra or Claritin. Hope this helps. ...Read more
