How Much Should A 10 Week Old Baby Eat
How can I help my baby wih gas? I have a 10 week old baby thats breastfed and is very gassy and gas drops don't seem to help is there anything else i can do for her
Every : Every baby has gas, just some are more bothered by it than others. The good news is that over time, gassiness and fussiness improve. In the mean time, here are a few tips to help get you through the next few weeks to months: - don't change your diet. Even though many folks will tell you this or that food causes breastfed babies to be gassy, none of it has actually been proven with research. Keep a varied diet so that you and your baby can get all the nutrients you need. If your baby does have a food sensitivity (such as milk protein allergy) she will have other signs of illness such as poor weight gain, vomiting or bloody stool. - burp frequently. Many babies (especially the voracious eaters) will suck in air as they eat. Try burping her every 3-5 minutes and between breasts to avoid all that air having to travel through her gut instead. - check your letdown. Do you have a forceful milk letdown causing your baby to choke, cough, gag, or gulp air? If so, check out the website below for helpful tips. - encourage regular stooling. Babies who do not poop often can be gassy. If your baby is only having a bowel movement once a day or less, you may want to encourage more frequent stooling with 1 oz of prune or pear juice per day. - check for thrush. Thrush is a fungal infection in a newborn's mouth which looks like white plaques on the tongue, inside the cheeks and lips. Thrush can also worsen gassiness and fussiness. Call your child's doctor if you suspect a thrush infection. I hope this helps! it will get better. ...Read more
My 10 week old baby is sick she can not hold down her formula can i give her pedialite instead of formula ?
Most comfortable: Babies often have a preference with their head positioning. This relates to the position they were inside mommy during pregnancy. Most will go away as they grow older, but there is one reason called torticollis which may require some attention. Ask your pediatrician if your baby may have this problem. Torticollis can be dealt with usually with exercise of the neck. ...Read more
10 week old baby length and weight both 85th percentile. Head circumference 95th percentile. Does this mean he has a big head in proportion to body?
Not really: I don't consider that difference worth anything more than noting. Big babies are big all over and this falls within the normal variation of such measurements. If the kid was 50% weight/length and 95% head, I would just measure the parents head to see where baby inherited it from. There are other issues to consider with a big head, but not from the reported info. ...Read more
