Back of head pain: Hello. If Gabapentin is the only thing you have tried, you have many more medication options such as Topamax, (topiramate) which now comes as extended release once daily called Trokendi XR. Elavil, Pamelor, Doxepin, and Tofranil are also options. These latter four are also once daily medications. Help too with sleep. Is it safe for me to take two capsules of gabapentin 300mg together or should I only take one in morning+1 at night, I forgot 2 take it in morning?
Yes: Generally Gabapentin is a short-acting medication, so the morning dose won't help very much with evening symptoms. If you forgot to take it in the morning, you can take it whenever you realize you forgot to take it. Then take the next one at your next scheduled time. The only side effect at these doses is slight sedation. ...Read more

I take 600mg gabapentin 3x a day and I have not taken a dosage yet. I am in a lot of pain and would like to know if it is safe for me to take a 5mg percocet?
Should be: When multiple medications are needed for the same reason, especially pain, it's advisable for a single doc or dr group to be managing them all. This helps ensure that potential interactions are tracked which improves safety. That being said, it's common for percocet and gabapentin to be prescribed and taken together, and the combination is generally safe but can be quite sedating. ...Read more

OK to mix: Gabapentin is metabolized via the kidney and has no substantial drug reaction with tramadol. Both could cause drowsiness and dizziness, and this could be additive. Although tramadol could rarely cause seizures, Gabapentin suppresses szs, so this essentially cancels out. So, in essence, with your doctor's very close supervision, you likely will do fine. ...Read more
