How Much Cephalexin Should I Take
I got a cut in the kitchen i waited till the next day to get seen they gave me cephalexin. should i take it or treat it other ways i am healthconcious?
Antibiotics are not: a "cure-all" and certainly can be the source of some serious side effects. A clean laceration to the hand not affecting deeper structures can be successfully treated with gentle cleaning, keeping the wound moist and covered on a daily basis without antibiotics. If you are otherwise healthy simply keep the wound clean (no peroxide or betadine), apply a thin layer of triple antibiotic and bandaid ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I went the ER and i told them that i was allergic to amoxicillion. The doctor gave me a prescription for cephalexin. Should i take the cephalexin?
Depends: Cephalexin is very close structurally to penicillin. It depends on what your allergic reaction to pcn is. If it is anaphylaxis, then stay away. If it is mild, then call your primary doctor since there is no guarantee you will have a reaction but better to be safe. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Currently on Bactrim and Cephalexin for a skin infection. Added Advil for pain but it still hurts too much. Anything stronger I can take?
Assess for abscess: Though other pain meds are available, if you just started the regimen, then you may experiencing increasing pain the day after- it's called the "antibiotic effect". This pain will decrease over the course of treatment. Otherwise, if the infected skin is warm, red, very tender, swollen and boggy/fluctuant, then it may be an abscess- if so, see your prescribing doctor for re-evaluation. ...Read more
Please can someone help me I have pain under the leftbreast onthe far side its a off and on pain can I take cephalexin?
Wait on cephalexin: There's nothing you're describing that makes me think this is an infection... Which is what you would take Cephalexin for. I would strongly recommend seeing a doctor before taking any antibiotics. When you take antiobitics when you don't need to, you run the risk of unnecessary allergic reactions, yeast infections, and resistant bacteria. Please see your doctor and get a thorough exam. ...Read more

See comment below. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
No effect: Pingueclua are a normal response to wind, dust and uv light. They are the eyes defense in the middle years to these external forces. They have no symptoms and are usually unnoticed. Cephalexin will not affect a pingueculum nor will any other antibiotic. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Can 500 mg cephalexin be taken 3 times per day instead of 4 times? I can't see how anyone who sleeps at least 8 hours would be able to take 4th dose.
