The road to becoming an anesthesiologist (or any medical specialist, for that matter) is a long one, with a great deal of competition along the way. Limiting yourself to one single training option on the basis of a family is laudable, but may make it impossible to succeed. That being the case, if you are really restricted to dallas, you might want to broaden your horizon to include becoming an anesthetist.
