Not that I know: I have not seen any research that shows a link between ultrasounds in pregnancy and autism. Ultrasound is a valuable tool to use in ob, (check dates, position of placenta, growth of baby), but sometimes it is overdone, because it is risk free, and parents like to see pictures, and drs. No: Believe it or not ultrasounds have not been shown to positively effect outcomes in pregnancy and some argue cause more unneeded concern. Good news is that you don't need pelvic exams while pregnant. Visits are to monitor your blood pressure, the babies growth, etc. and this is done without a pelvic exam.
