I have MS. I'm having really bad headache since Sunday. my neuro NP told me to take Tylenol (acetaminophen) and drink tea. Not working. OTC meds not helping!

I have MS. I'm having really bad headache since Sunday. my neuro NP told me to take Tylenol (acetaminophen) and drink tea. Not working.  OTC meds not helping!

Suggestions: MS patients experience 2-4X frequency of migraines than normal folks. Tylenol (acetaminophen) and tea fails to help migraines. But OTC remedies such as butterbur, feverfew, Co-Q10, or riboflavin can prevent. See your neurologist directly, as am skeptical about the NP. (also, blood in urine, foot swelling, ?kidney problems?) ...Read more

You : You did the right thing by giving her a pain reliever. Consider trying children's advil (ibuprofen) in the future. I have found it to be much more effective for pain relief. Hopefully your daughter is better by now. However, if this is a recurring issue she should definitely see the pediatrician. Also, make sure she has her vision checked. One of the most common causes of headache in kids is vision problems, allergies/sinus issues are also high on the list. All the best. ...Read more
