YEARS ago,: when I was in Medical School, we learned that ideal weight for men was 106 lbs for 5 ft, then +6 lbs per inch or 178 lbs for 6 feet. This is a pretty good rule of thumb. Another way to measure is BMI (body mass index). Yours is 26.6; overweight is 25-29.9. So you are slightly overweight by these measures. Some allowance is given for "frame" size. Healthy vs risk...: Unfortunately being over weight is actually more common than normal wt these days. As long as you are active, eat a healthy/balanced diet, exercise regularly, don't smoke, and don't drink to excess, you are better off overweight than normal wt and don't do the above. Doesn't sound fat: To me. If you are female 120 pounds =/- 10% is fine (up to 132 pounds). If you are male 125 pounds +/- 10 ;% is ok ( up to 138 pounds). If you have large muscles you could weigh considerable more and not have excessive fat content. ...Read more
