What can I do to stop feeling really guilty for having a mental illness when there are so many struggling with physical illnesses ?
We are not perfect: After practicing medicine for over 20 years now, I have come to the realization that we are not perfect entities that develop disease only because of some type of wrong that we either do to ourselves or someone does to us, we are all pre-programed to have something go wrong. Best of luck to you all. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Could you tell me what are some arguments for and against the use of medications to manage mental illnesses?

These decisions are made on a case-by-case basis, in discussion with the patient (and family, if appropriate). The idea is to diminish suffering and support health as much as possible. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
