The two do not mix: If a doctor recommended Ativan (lorazepam) to you, it is likely you suffer from some type of anxiety. Alcohol will make it worse. Also, Ativan (lorazepam) and alcohol do not mix. They just make you more sedated, you can end up addicted to both and your anxiety will actually get much worse. My advice: treat the anxiety and stop drinking. Ever considered aa? I think it could help you. A lot. ...Read more

Ativan (lorazepam) & alcohol: Benzos + alcohol exacerbates the CNS depressant effects of ativan (lorazepam). This includes your breath rate as judy garland found out. The only reason I can see u asking this question here is to get permission to do what your rxing practitioner would never give. Booze and benzos never mix. Wouldn't suggest it: First, why are you on lorazepam? If it is prescribed for you, it is to treat an anxiety disorder. Alcohol is a 2-edged sword in people with anxiety, because it is short-acting, resolves anxiety for a short-time, but then it comes back even worse than before. Secondly, Ativan has a clinical half life of over 12 hours, and benzos and alcohol DO NOT MIX. If not prescribed, DON'T TAKE IT. ...Read more

You could suffer serious effects, and NEVER drive on this mix! ...Read more
