What types of food can relief gas in preschoolers quickly. Are dates soaked in water good for this.
Local answers: intestinal gas in young children can be very uncomfortable. Often a gentle massage of the abdomen, going counter clockwise, can help relieve pockets of gas. Continued pain or swelling or vomiting should be seen by a practitioner. Foods vary with locale; cabbage family and beans are very gasogenic. Often crushed flax seed with rice can be helpful. I would consult locally re dates. ...Read more

How long can a cancer cell survive in a drop of blood spilled on a counter. I assume not long but are we talking minutes, an hour, many hours? Thx
Not catching: Cancer cells are very fragile and will die as soon as the drying process begins. You cannot catch a malignancy from another person; your body will reject the cell as it would a transplant. If this were not the case, then people who get blood transfusion -- and a fair number of donors must have unknown cancers cells in their blood -- would come down with metastatic disease. It doesn't happen. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What long term ( as in more than a few years) effects are there for a flu shot? What will 20 years of flu shots do to their bodies? Or their children?
Zero/zero: The flu vaccine is just a fancy way to avoid illness that you might otherwise get. It challenges your immune system when you take it, just like the colds & flu you have normally.Your body builds a immune memory & gradually has less symptomatic illness as you age. "people who survive alcohol poisoning with brain damage are the ones who survived due to intensive care and remained in a coma for day or more" true?
Why in america are we losing people every 2.5 minutes to a bactrial infection called sepsis? My 25 years young niece in corpus christi tx has been in the hospital still in the icu going on one month already! lungs colasped, kindey failure, fast heatbeat
Hello. : Hello. It must be heartbreaking to see you niece's struggle. I don't know if you were looking for medical information or to discuss this more from a philosophical aspect. Sepsis occurs when the blood stream becomes infected. Once that happens, it seeds the infection throughout the body. Both sepsis & pneumonia can contribute to the development of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ards). With ARDS small blood vessles in the lungs leak into the air sacs. The air sacs can't fill with air and thus there won't be enough oxygen carried in the bloodstream. This can be catasphrophic because our organs need oxygen to function. The brain and kidneys are quite susceptible. When one body system shuts down, there can be a domino effect. Many people are under the belief that marvels of modern medicine should be able to fix most medical problems there is also a sense that bad things shouldn't happen to good people. Inspite of the best medical care, once body organs begin failing it can become a real struggle just to sustain life, much less to begin healing. Although the human body is built for resilience, once reserves are depleted and so many organs have been taxed the body becomes very frail. I don't know you or your niece but i just said a prayer for you. Take care. ...Read more
I drive a tractor trailer for a living, bounce around a lot vechiles are very heavy and ride rough, can 24 years of this damage the body/organs?
Maybe.: There hasn't been very clear research into the effects of vibration. But any kind of repetitive movement, applying acceleration/deceleration forces on the body (not to mention lots of sitting!) might be less-than-ideally healthy. If you can, try to pad your seat, eat a healthy diet, take frequent brakes, and exercise. ...Read more
