How Many Days Can You Take Enterogermina
I have Clay colored stools for four days. Have not changed my diet. And the only medication I take are probiotics and ultram. Is that normal?
Clay colored: No this is not normal you may have an obstruction of your bile duct
Diarrhea for 19 days because of clindamycim. Stopped clindamycim 12 days ago. My doc says take pepto dismal and probiotics. He doesn't want to test for C.Diff. Lost over 10 pounds. What to do?
On amoxicillin, 500mg, 3 pills a day. A few days later, my vag to anus is itchy & burning sensation. Caused yeast infection? Can I take probiotics?
Yeast medication: If you feel like you have a yeast infection then it is reasonable to try an over the counter yeast medication. These are available at any pharmacy. Probiotics are not likely to treat a true yeast infection
Just had big dental surgery and finished 7 days of amoxicillin. May it be wise to take probiotics to increase good bacteria for an unsettled stomach?
Yes to Probiotics: "pro"-biotics put good organisms into your gut (unlike "anti"-biotics which kill bacteria) & include: lactobacillus, acidophilus, bifidobacter, sachromyces boulardes, to name a few. Most are available over-the-counter & need to be taken daily to maintain the probiotic organism population. Benefits include: less gas, regulated bowels, prevent infections, improve digestion, decrease inflammation.
Had diarrhea for 8 days because of clindamycim taking for tooth infection. Went to oral surgeon who prescribed antibiotics for diarrhea, he said, stop antibiotics, take probiotics n fluids. Is it enoug?
Monitor Closely: GI symptoms from antibiotics are common. However, if the diarrhea persists after discontinuing antibiotics or is severe you need to see and MD to rule out a possible Clostridium Difficile infection. This infection is treatable and can become quite serious if not treated.See 1 more doctor answer
No bm in 8 days. Take daily probiotics, stool softeners, & miralax (polyethylene glycol). Stomach looks large and in some pain. What should I do? Have appt w GI dr this wk.
GI good idea: It sounds like you are doing all the things that you should on your part. You may could ask your gi, if apt not until later in week, if they would be ok with you trying a fleet enema, (sodium bisphosphate) but with colitis (depending on the type), you really should have that discussion with your GI doc....Sooner than later.
Sure: But be aware that you are not likely to get any benefit. The field of probiotics is in its infancy. We don't know yet how to formulate this. Unscrupulous vendors take advantage of people, pretending that wichcraft is science. It won't harm you except to cheat you.
It doesn't matter.: Probiotics can be taken any time of the day, without regard to food intake. Just follow the directions given on the bottle or by your doctor. Good luck.
Most people: I am an advocate of probiotics. The gut lining has a difficult time maintaining the balance of healthy bacteria with stress, disease, poor sleep, poor nutrition, antibiotic or medication use. Recent studies have shown benefits even pregnant patients. Probiotics can help with immune function, regulate constipation/diarrhea, bloating, help with GI diseases and even skin conditions.
Probiotics Use: I commend you for your desire to have good Health. Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for digestive system. Probiotics can be helpful for • Irritable bowel syndrome • Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) • Infectious diarrhea (caused by viruses, bacteria, or parasites) • Antibiotic-related diarrhea
Probiotics: Hi Isaac, my understanding is that taking probiotics daily can be beneficial. Such as the yogurt variety. However, there are many supplements and dietary products out there so be careful. In addition, you may have certain medical/dietary concerns unaccounted for. My recommendation is to discuss your probiotics with your PCP and/or a registered dietitian/nutritionist to confirm.
No single best: This is like asking what is the best drug for hypertension or the best wine. There is no single best brand and different brands work best for given individuals and conditions. Here are independent ratings of many brands- all rated A or A- are excellent: https://labdoor. Com/rankings/probiotics A different ranking: http://tinyurl. Com/zxlsalj I also like OrthoBiotic from Orthomolecular Products.
Probiotics: Best time is at bedtime so good bacteria have the most time to affect intestinal levels.
No perfect answer: Can take few weeks to months. It's an evolving field of science
