Is something wrong with me because my period has always been extremely heavy and paralyzingly painful. I overdose on Advil/Midol to barely handle it.
I use to have bad period cramps as a teen. Now i get bad cramps in some cycles&the pain is 1 day, advil works for me. Should i test for Endometriosis?
Low risk: Usually cramping and pain from endometriosis increases with time, starts before menses start and persists for several days, and may also involve pain with urination and stooling. If you have not having cramping every cycle and are getting relief with Advil, it is unlikely that you have endometriosis. ...Read more
I took 16 Aleve (naproxen) pills & 14 Advil pills within a 10 hour period. this was 24 hours ago & today all i had was a stomachache. am i ok by this time?
Probably: You most likely caused extensive gastro, intestinal irritation or perhaps an ulcer. Don't know your age, but if older than 60 might have caused some kidney damage.,blood tests, and stool, for blood testing will tell this. You did not say why you took these meds, but if you were trying to harm yourself, you will need mental health help,as well to,avoid any repeat episodes. ...Read more

I have chronic migraines, and think i might also be having rebound has from advil (ibuprofen). If i stop taking it, how long should it take for the has to go away?
May not work: You likely have chronic daily headache patterns, and could well be prompted by your advil (ibuprofen) usage, which is not uncommon, but your Fioricet will make this even worse, and Amitriptyline will be unlikely to break up this headache pattern. In short, see a neurologist who specializes in headaches, and get your med program totally revamped. Might also check in with dentist re teeth and/or jaw issues. ...Read more
I take Advil (ibuprofen) for pain but I'm trying to conceive will that stop me? I heard tyenol is better to take will tyenol stop conception as well? Pls help!
Tylenol (acetaminophen) is safer: I advise all my patients who are pregnant or trying to conceive to stop ibuprofen. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is a better option. I also advised avoiding aspirin unless you have a history of poor pregnancy outcomes such as severe hypertension. Try to stay hydrated and find other ways to cope with pain such as surrounding yourself with positive influences. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My gyn said take Advil (ibuprofen) to stop bleeding; my GI said large dose of Advil (ibuprofen) increases risks for colon bleeding. How can same drug have opposite effects?
Advil (ibuprofen): Perhaps you misinterpreted the instructions. Advil (ibuprofen) would be for pain or cramping. It is never used to 'stop bleeding'. Large and prolonged doses of drugs such as advil (ibuprofen) can lead to ulcers and GI bleeding, but not usually in low or temporary dosing. ...Read more

Okay: Advil, (ibuprofen) to my knowledge, has never stopped a period, though it can lessen bleeding by up to 30%. I think your period is just over and won't return for another cycle.
