Ears plugged: If you have a lot of wax, this can cause hearing loss. The bigger question is whether or not the ear drum could be seen as a result of the ear wax. If not, how could they tell you had an ear infection. Best to see someone who can clear out the ear wax and examine your ears properly. Mastoiditis came l8r: I suspect that u had a low-grade ear infection that was "smoldering", spread to the mastoids, & then to the middle ear where it affected ur hearing. At that point, u noticed it. A little: A lymph node swelling is usually a sign of infection. Generally it goes back down after the infection is resolved.
