Hydrocodone 20 hrs: In general, 97% of a 10mg dose of hydrocodone would be eliminated after 20 hours. In addition, 97% of 325mg of acetaminophen would be eliminated after 15 hours. This applies to a healthy person with normal kidney and liver function. Each urine drug test has a different lower limit of detection. Some detect drug metabolites of the hydrocodone, such as hydromorphone which lasts 2-4 days. ...Read more

How long will hydrocodone affect my breastmilk? I had surgery on my ACL and was prescribed 5mg. When will it be out of my system so I can breastfee?
Narcotic/breastfeed: You do not need to stop breast feeding if you are on small doses of hydrocodone. As long as your 24 hour intake is less than 30mg, there should be minimal effect on the baby - a little drowsiness may occur, not as vigorous feeding. However, if you really want no exposure and want to pump and dump, it will clear from your system and milk in 48 hours. I would keep nursing! (good luck with your knee). ...Read more

You can't: Time will. There is nothing that hastens most drugs coming out of the body, no matter what you read about "detox" meds or procedures, enemas, diuretics, laxatives, body cleanses etc etc etc. Hydrocodone is a short-acting drug, and it is gone within less than a day. It's metabolites are gone within a couple-three days. If you have been on higher doses regularly for some time, might take a week. ...Read more
You can't: If you are using drugs not by prescription, and you know that you might be tested, that (to me at least) is pretty strong evidence of a drug problem. I would recommend being more concerned about your use of drugs than with being caught. Modern testing can detect adulteration of the sample or people taking in large amounts of liquids to "flush" it out or put the concentration of drug way down. ...Read more
Depends on what you: Mean by "out of my system." I suspect you are being drug tested, and that is your concern. Firstly, you can't get it out any faster with any known technique (like drinking tons of water etc.). Your liver will metabolize it and your kidneys excrete it at their own pace. In general, the hydrocodone itself is gone within 4-6 hours from your bloodstream, but the metabolites can stick around 3-4 days. ...Read more
Not sure what you: Are really asking. The clinical effects of hydrocodone last a very short time - 3-5 hours or so, as it is metabolized to codeine, then morphine and then inactive metabolites of morphine. Those metabolites can be found for up to 3 days after a single dose, depending on how sensitive a test is used. In long-term regular users, might be detectable for 4-5 days. ...Read more

Suppression: Opiates in general cause respiratory depression--suppression of the respiratory center in the brain stem, this is dose dependent and is not permanent unless it leads to complete cessation of breathing. Therapeutic medical dosages are very unlikely to cause suppression. Usually it is high doses and overdoses that do that. ...Read more

Depends on dose: In very high doses, it may still be present if you are tested by a very sensitive method, but if it was lower dose and one-time use, it would likely be negative after six days. However, if you are using hydrocodone without a prescription DESPITE being subject to drug testing, I would wonder if you have a real drug problem. Worry more about that than getting caught and you will be better off. ...Read more
