On baby tooth the procedure used to treat an infective nerve (pulp) is called a pulpotomy, not a root canal. Depends: The discomfort often depends upon the severity of the infection in each tooth and the root canal process. Is the pain the result of temperature (hot, cold,) or biting? Give it time.
