My toenail is falling off from a trama a few months ago but there is a new one about halfway grown behind/underneath it. Is it safe to paint it?

You Decide...: I'm not sure just what you mean by safe, but, I can offer you this. Recently traumatized nails are more susceptible to developing fungal infections. Applying nail polish, and the subsequent use of polish removers, may put your new toenail at an increased risk of developing a nail fungus and all the issues of the involved treatment. Hello. : Hello. This falls under the perview of podiatry. The problem with bathroom surgery is that, if you do not have a good functional understanding of area being worked on, it may not work or you may end up with unforseen complications (such as infections). As the nail grows into one or both sides of the paronychium (nail bed) is likely to become more painful and can become infected. At this point, you are getting recurrence of the ingrowing of the nail (onychocryptosis). You also noted that there is no nail growth from the base. If the nail issue is not addressed appropriately, you could develop a chronic abnormality of the nail (i.e., crooked). One approach is a partial wedge resection, in which the podiatrist cuts back part of the lateral nail plate. Sometimes the nail needs to be removed. I suggest you see a podiatrist for assistance. Take care. ...Read more

My big toe nail fell off from me stubbing my toe going on two months now looks like a new one growing is there anything I should put on it like cream?

Antifungal in case: Sometimes, when you remove the barrier to fungus, it "takes up shop" there and causes a fungal infection. The last thing you want out of this stubbing incident is a fungal toenail. I suggest using topical lotrimin (clotrimazole) on the area. ...Read more

Discovered one white spot with some black flecks under my big toe nail. I don't know how long it has been there, as i've had nail polish for months.

Discovered one white: White discoloration usually comes from fungal infection , black could be from fungal infection/dry blood/very rarely skin cancer. It is best to see a podiatrist to get examined, possibly cut back the toenail and get sample of the nail for culture and possibly biopsy of the skin under the toenail, if needed. ...Read more
