How Long Should You Wait To Drink After Taking Medicine
Depends on medicine: This depends on the medication you're taking. Please ask your own physician, who is better able to answer. With some medications, you should not be drinking alcohol at all.
No conflict: As far as I know, there is no conflict. Anyone?
Alcohol & Medication: Depending on amount of alcohol consumed & what type of medications. Usually, moderate consumption of alcohol when taken within 1-2 hours of sedating or blood pressure lowering type of medications can add to sedation & is not advised. Also there is additive effect on stomach & liver.
I have to take sandimmun neoral (cyclosporine)for 4 month. How long I have to wait after I stop to take the medicine if I want to drink a lot of alcol?
Possibly not to drin: You shouldnot be mmixing medicines with alcohol.
Infection B Gone!: Azithromycin is an antibiotic that treats an infection. Please wait until your infection is gone before you start drinking [booze can slow down your body's ability to fight off infection]. Even though alcohol and Azithromycin do not interact, it would be great to help, not hinder, your body's healing.
At least...: Six hours for light drinking, 12 to 24 for heavier - which you should not do in any case.
You should NOT drink: If you are in a Methadone program for drug addiction, you are at high risk of developing another addiction - to alcohol. If you are on it for pain, the combination of Methadone and alcohol is not a good one. Methadone is a long-acting drug that maintains levels for 24 hours or more, so there is no safe time. Depending on how much you drink, respiratory depression and even death can occur w. Combo.
Go right to sleep!: If you mean drink alcohol, don't! if you simply meant you wanted a drink of water, there is a sublingual form of zolpidem called edular that does require you to wait a while before having anything to eat or drink; however, you are supposed to put yourself in bed, and be ready to fall asleep after taking Ambien or you could get yourself into trouble doing something unsafe you do not remember.
Confusing.: The whole idea of taking Antabuse (disulfiram) is to stop drinking; so why would you want to drink after taking it? But to answer your question, Antabuse (disulfiram) has a 12-hour half-life, meaning that it takes your body 12 hours to clear out half of it -- so I wouldn't attempt to drink any alcohol (even cough medicine) for 3 days, minimum.
Forever: Alcohol never did any body any good and you should not drink. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
Both are hepatotoxic: Both of these drugs are hepatotoxins and you should practice moderation when using them together or close proximity to each other. If you know that you have liver disease or elevated liver enzymes, you should take extra caution mixing the two.
Alcohol?: If you are wanting to drink alcohol you really should finish your medication first. I generally discourage alcohol consumption when I prescribe any medication. All other fluids should be fine.
Hydrocodone and alco: Simply put when you take any opioid you should not drink alcohol, drive or operate machinery. From a safety point of view I would wait 24 hrs from the last pill taken before taking alcohol. Different md's have different views - I tend to be a little more strict and cautious.See 1 more doctor answer
